Perhaps you have seen us but have never been quite sure what we are all about? Or maybe you've never noticed us before.
We have been hiding in plain sight on Chard Road for several decades but many still do not know that we exist, or what exactly goes on here.

The Centre was originally set up in the 1970's as a Centre for spirituality and spiritual studies, and was called The Axminster Awareness Centre. Many people still refer to us as the Awareness Centre even now. So we've always had a bit of a reputation as "that woo place!" (But that's ok, we've embraced it ) Our beautiful Grade II listed building was bequeathed to us to us by our benefactor, John Tweed. And our large ground floor classroom is named "The John Tweed" room in his honour.
We later became a registered charity in the 1990's and the focus of the Centre shifted to complementary healthcare and treatments.
With five peaceful treatment rooms available, we are home to a wide range of health and wellness professionals. We offer affordable treatments to everyone in the local community, including Counselling, Acupuncture, Myofascial Release, Cranio-sacral, Reflexology, Reiki, Bowen Therapy, Health Coaching, Hypnotherapy, Nutrition Coaching, Naturopathy, Therapeutic Massage and much more.

We also offer holistic movement classes such as Yoga, Pilates, Qi-Gong and Tai Chi. And meditation and mindfulness classes and group sessions.
Not only does the Centre provide physical and mental health services, but we are also an important support network for those who are in need. As well as treatments and classes we are also home to the Axminster Foodbank and Read Easy (adult reading lessons) charities as well. Aided by our army of amazing volunteers, we support almost 100 local families a week via the Foodbank and hardship fund.

We have welcomed thousands of local Axminster residents to our Centre over the years, and it has been a great resource for members of our community to turn to when they need help.
With access to trained professionals, at affordable rates, and resources that can be used to benefit overall wellness, individuals are able to take charge of their own health and wellbeing, whatever their current situation.

We hope to welcome you along soon. x
